CREATION OF A PERMANENT DEBATE FORUM
Creation of a Permanent Debate Forum specialized in the interaction between population and territory. Its aim is to energize the project, facilitate knowledge transfer, and ensure the continuity of the network beyond the funding period.

LAUNCH OF THE DESP-OB OBSERVATORY
The Interdisciplinary Observatory on Depopulation and Population Decline (DESP-OB) is being launched with the design of an indicator system that will be fed by the members of the network. All materials produced by the observatory will be made available to policymakers, private actors, and civil society through the website.

CONDUCTING TEN CASE STUDIES
Ten case studies, distributed among the research centers or groups, which will enable the creation of a catalog of good practices (Action 8). The goal is to identify public policies and private initiatives applicable to different territories and contexts related to depopulation and population decline.

DEVELOPMENT OF A COMMUNICATION STRATEGY
Design and implementation of a communication strategy to publicize the results generated by the network among social stakeholders.

EXPANSION OF THE NETWORK
Through the inclusion of new researchers and centers recognized as references in the fields of Social Sciences and Humanities, aiming to further expand the network’s representation within research on this topic in Spain and Europe.

DEVELOPMENT OF A CATALOG OF GOOD PRACTICES
Compilation of a catalog of good practices in public policies and private initiatives related to depopulation and population decline. The catalog will be informed by the ten case studies conducted (Action 4) by the participating groups and centers within the network.

CONFECCIÓN DE UNA PROPUESTA DE INTERÉS ESTRATÉGICO
Development of a strategic interest proposal or roadmap to help inform and guide public policies aimed at addressing the challenge of depopulation and population decline in Spain.

INTERNATIONALIZATION OF THE NETWORK’S WORK
International projection of the network’s work through collaboration with experts and the European Commission, following the recommendations of the Communication on Demographic Change in Europe: A Toolkit for Action (2023), and leveraging and promoting the European Commission’s Demography Atlas.

With these actions, DESP-OB consolidates a knowledge network serving the territory, driven by a transformative vision, scientific rigor, and social commitment.
